Intaglio

Drypoint Intaglio

I'm in a class where we are learning three different forms of printmaking.  This week was drypoint intaglio where we carved into a plexiglass plate, rubbed ink across the surface, wiped off excess ink, then printed onto paper with a press.  The resulting image is almost always a surprise, with no two images ever exactly alike.  The feathering of ink around the edges of lines is an appealing aspect of this method.
